I find the sky captivating — how the clouds pop off a bright blue backdrop as if you could reach up and pull one down to earth. The vibrant colors strewn across the horizon as the sun rises and sets. Every day, a new spectacular display of sunlight dances over nature. Have you ever stopped to soak in the night sky, memorized by the deep shades of blue decorated with stars too numerous to count? 

Maybe it's just me, but when something captivates me I talk about it often and enthusiastically. This is why my sons grew up hearing constant chatter about the sky.

Our God is Infinite. He is able to do much more because He has NO limits.

Little buds of bright green made a blanket over the forest floor that gave a feeling of freshness to my hike that morning. It was a quiet Saturday, and I was out alone with my dogs, breathing deeply of the early April air and making good on my promise to myself to keep growing stronger after my back surgery.

I love a good superhero movie. Something in my heart instinctively knows that the world needs a hero, someone powerful enough to conquer evil and rescue the distressed. But all superheroes have their own version of kryptonite, something that leaves them vulnerable to the villain’s evil schemes. They may have special powers, but they are not all-powerful. Even in fictional stories, we all know that human power has its limits.

God’s faithfulness is evident through the story of scripture. He is consistent and utterly dependable in the lives of His children.

When your feet hit the ground in the morning, do you know precisely what the next 24 hours will hold? With the passing of another year, could you truthfully state that you did not change in the slightest from the first day of the calendar year to the last? Or from your first breath to your present one? The answer to these questions is a resounding, “No”! This realization alone reminds us that we are finite: we have a birth date and an expiration date on earth!

Do I believe God knows best? I scribbled this question at the top of my journal page one morning last week. My green pen stood against the bright white paper as I sat and collected my thoughts.

My Nana barely stands 4 feet 10 inches tall and recently shared her excitement to reach 96 pounds. She makes up for her lack of physical stature with tenacity and tenderness.

Heading into another surgery on my breast cancer journey on January 3rd, I feel less peace than before my first surgery. This time I know more — I know the discomfort of drains, I understand the process of recovery, and I know I’m facing a hospital stay.
